A "Purrr"-fect Life
Written by nolegurle22 on October 3, 2003 - 10:42
Snoring very loudly - or shall I saying purring - I startled myself awake. What was I to do with myself now that I was a cat? Sleep some more? Catch some bugs? Nah, I’ve never been one for bugs. I rolled over and thought to myself: “I am so incredibly hungry!” Making my way into the kitchen, I contemplated my choices for lunch: a turkey, cheese, and mayo sandwich, a Hot Pocket, perhaps even some Cheerio’s.
Portfolio Draft (final): Makes me Wonder
Written by Better_Ingredients on December 5, 2003 - 19:00
This was my single and solitary motive for adopting the profession. I wondered where I might have been if perhaps governing factors were deviant. This begs the question: was there a steady paycheck to be had in the pursuit of women?
Portfolio Draft: Makes me wonder

It’s a productive waste of time wondering how I got here. My life allows for this useless day dreaming. Today most of my day dreaming is concerned with the present. As a kid—as I suppose is not unusual—my thoughts and dreams were fixed firmly on the future. Little kids are just wasting time waiting to grow up and my childhood was no different. I had spent my share of sleepless nights lying in bed wondering where I would be twenty or thirty years down the road. Twenty-four years down the road I no longer wonder, the answer to all my childhood day dreams are realized in this small desk and hard plastic chair.

As I look down the mountain, my palms grew sweaty as I clinch the reins. The trail is very high and dusty so it is very hard to see anything. Even though it was dusty, the horses fortunately still knew where they are going. Some of the people are a little scared because they are so high up, but not for me because I like living on the edge like this, literally.

“I told you something was different Jamie. Look, nobody is here. There are no cars parked in any driveways. Do you see anyone walking around outside? We are standing in complete silence. What the hell is wrong with our neighborhood? What the hell is going on? We have checked my house, your house, your mom’s friend house, and Christina’s house. This is really fucking weird.”
Searching For the Light- FINAL FINAL
Written by chickpic85 on December 5, 2003 - 16:47
Where the hell is the light switch? It’s too dark to see shit! How would I know where any of the switches are in this house. Whatever! I want to do this now, while everyone in the house is sleeping.
KO - Final Draft

“Frank, breakfast is on the table. You’re going to be late for work!” I, a middle class family man with a job in management with the local grocery store chain, scurry downstairs to eat with my family. As I give my two daughters a kiss on the cheek, I reach for the daily newspaper at the table. My wife, Debbie, fills me in on what her plans are for her day.

The town where I live has an old haunted mansion. Or at least that is what everyone says. I am thinking about going to the old mansion tonight, so I am going to do a little investigating pertaining to the factual history of the house.
Final portfolio draft short story "The Loan"

The gentle breeze flows through the bare, quiet branches of the sycamore and oak trees that run along the edge of the bustling street. The busy lives of the towns people are perpetuated below as they walk briskly along the freshly frozen, continuously cracked sidewalk. Being a small town, they find it hard to get the money to repair them.

As the sun sets on a wonderful day of skiing, Mike and I are starving for a cheeseburger and a ice cold Bud Light. Our second day on the slopes was badass. I ate shit, coming down that black. What was I thinking? I hope we meet up with some ladies tonight. We decided to order so we don’t have to get all dressed up and wait in line at some restaurant. That was the best burger I’ve ever had, man, that hit the spot.
Pro-Choice Is the Right Choice
Written by cci03 on December 5, 2003 - 15:35
Even though society's view on abortion is split between the two famous "Pro-Choice" and "Pro-Life", liberals and conservatives respectively, it seems that acceptance to this alternative to unwanted pregnancy is gradually increasing.
Final Portfolio Draft: Alone?

The road was never ending. It curved left and right from time to time, but mostly it was a straight path into the unknown. Sometimes, John thought he was going in circles and therefore constantly glanced at his folded map for reassurance. He let out a yawn and eyeballed his watch to find that he had been driving for ten hours, while the sun was creeping to the west to go to sleep. Being all alone on a highway in the middle of Nevada is strange, especially when one thinks negatively. Like what would happen if the car broke down? Pushing his negative thoughts away, he smiled and knew that there was only an hour left on the road until he would reach the campsite. John’s astronomy class was already there, setting up tents and making bonfires. One of the greatest meteor showers in history was occurring that night, and John had no intentions of missing a wink of it.
North Korea: Leading the Axis
Written by johnmac on December 5, 2003 - 14:23
The dark and morbid setting is unsettling to the stomach. Looking over the open acres, one can only imagine how dangerous the biggest open minefield in the world can be. Snipers in their towers line the border, manned 24/7, stare and follow even the most innocent of tourists with their scopes. Opposing forces on both sides are constantly on duty, separated only by the cold barbed-wire fences. This is the most dangerous place in the world. This is the border between North and South Korea, the most heavily guarded border in the world.
