The Return of the King
Last night, I watched the trailer for the Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for about the 20th time. I don't think that it's possible for anyone to understand just how excited I am about this movie. Before I saw the first one, The Fellowship of the Ring, I was very skeptical. These were the greatest novels ever written in my opionion. Sure, the preview for that movie was nothing short of amazing, but I told myself that previews make every movie look good. I just didn;t want to get my hopes up, and set myself up for a big disappointment. Then, I went to see it. I was totally blown away, I can't even really describe the way this movie made me feel. It was so true to the book that it may have even brought a tear to the eye of J.R.R. Tolkien himself if he was still around to see it. I remember the first time saw the cover of the book, it had this crazy looking goblin on the front, whom I later learned was Gollum. I was in 5th grade, and thought to myself, what kind of person would read a weird book like that? NEVER judge a book by it's cover! My Uncle actually gave me his copy to read one summer, and I could not put it down. From thence onward I was hooked. Seeing the book that had meant so much o me as a little kid and still means so much to me today come to life in this movie just blew my mind. I saw it several times, then bought the DVD and watch it often. The 2nd movie came out, and totally lived up to, maybe even surpassed, the amazingness of its predecessor. Now, here we are, two weeks before the release of the final, climatic movie, and yes, sure we've all read the book 15 times and know what will happen, but I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE IT!
