ENC 1101-B3 & B4: Writing for Discovery

At the beginning of this semester I looked at writing in a completely different manner than I do now. At the beginning of the semester I absolutely hated having to write any sort of paper even the blogs. As the semester went on I guess I got used to having to do all this writing that I had not been used to doing in high school. Now at the end of the semester I have begun to look at writing in a completely different manner. Instead of having an absolute hatred of writing, it is now just an annoyance that can even sometimes be fun when I get to write about something that I am interested in.

I think that this was probably Mr. Lowe’s plan from the beginning. I think that he wanted to change the way that we looked at writing, and wanted us to realize that writing is all about experimenting with different things, and that you have to make it your own. Also, by allowing us to write about things that interested us, he tried to make is fun.

So at the end of this semester I definitely think that I have become a better writer, and as I look back over these fifteen weeks I realize that Mr. Lowe was right in that you have to write in order to become better, and if you experiment with different types and make it your own, then the overall product will be better.
