God i hate reading short story by authors that think they are just so smart and original. An author will try to write a story in a new and innovatove fashion and they'll end up just screwing it up. They try to make the story original and they end up just confusing the reader. I honestly don't know how some of these stories got published. I'll read a 13 page short fiction story and have less of an idea about what is going on in the story then when I started. That just drives me crazy especially when I'm going to be tested on the material. I don't even know how some of this crap gets published. I could write a story thats really confusing and some publisher will read it and try not to look stupid and say it's really good. It's kind of like the emperors new clothes in that it's "invisible" to only the smart people.
