Thanksgiving Break was wonderful! I drove home Wednesday morning. I could have gone Tuesday night but I’m not a night driver so I decided against it. I arrived at around noon and was immediately put to work baking pies. We had 7 family members come outside our own so our table was pretty full. We made three pies and bought two key lime pies.
Thursday, I was put to work cleaning for our guests. NINE AM! Too early if you ask me! Then when they arrived we had Sangria (one of my favs) and cheese and crackers. Mostly we watched football and helped in the kitchen. Then I helped myself to two Mike’s Hard Lemonade and watched the game. When we sat down to dinner at about 4pm we toasted with champagne and pigged out. It was wonderful, a little hectic, but wonderful. Later that night we played Cranium for about two hours. Finally, it was time to say goodbye.
On Friday, I had to run errands and get my car fixed, it was leaning way to the left. So while I waited for my car to be done I went out to lunch with my dad. It was just like high school, which was a good thing and a bad thing. We talked over calendars and my future. A very long winded conversation. However, I know that it means he cares about me so I smile and nod.
The weekend was uneventful I have to admit, but I was happy to be home. Once I returned to Tallahassee I was ok. Now I’m ready to go back home!
