Journal 9 - I said Brrr

If you are from South Florida like I, you know what I am talking about! How cold have you been in this past week?

Unlike most students my day starts at around 7 am when I wake up in order to make to my 8 am class on time. Most of the time I go online and check the weather, on Monday it read: 41 degrees. I could not believe that I was up that early and about to head out for class when it was that cold.

Where I am from, Parkland, rarely you are able to encounter such weather conditions. The coldest it gets is around the low 50s for maybe a week or so in early January. Then it’s back up in the high 60s or low 70s for about a month.

However, I was not caught off guard by the low temperatures. My parents and I both agreed that I would need some winter jackets by the time I moved to Tallahassee. Fortunately I had decided to meet up with my parents two weekends ago in Orlando for some shopping and I bought a nice leather jacket lined with faux fur. So warm!

The cold weather does not bother me at all. I like the fact that I am able to wear boots and closed shoes instead of sandals. I think people look nicer when they dress in warm clothing!
