ENC 1101-B3 & B4: Writing for Discovery

My favorite part of the day has finally arrived. I hear the assistant principal on the intercom releasing all of the seniors. We got let out about ten minutes earlier then everyone else so it was pretty easy to meet up with the rest of the seniors. I always meet up with my friend Jamie at the parking lot right after school. Today was just like any other day so I headed towards the lot so that we could walk home together.
“Heeeey whats up girl? Yo you don’t even know about these bomb ass brownies my mom is making for me today. I can’t wait until we get home.”
“John how many times have I been to your house for some brownies, honestly.”
“So what. That doesn’t mean you know about these bomb ass brownies that my mom is going to have today.”
“John shut up. You always talk shit. Lets start walking home I don’t feel like hanging around at school.”
“Jamie you know I am just messing around with you. Well anyways, do you want to come over when we get back to the neighborhood? We will get down on the some good shit yo.”
“That sounds cool. Even though I don’t know anything about them.”
As we got back to our neighborhood something appeared to be different to me. I can’t really tell what it is I just know it is really quiet and it seems out of place for some reason.
I turn to Jamie and ask her if she thinks anything is wrong or seems like it.
“Not really. She replies.
We walk up to my front doorstep and I ring on the doorbell. Nobody came answer it.
“Damn what the hell? My mom said she would be home when I got back from school today. I wonder where she is. This is strange of her she never does stuff like this.”
I rang the doorbell again but just like before nobody came to open the door.
“Hey nobody is home at my house and I got the key John, lets just go over there.”
“Alright as long as I can get some play.”
“Ohhh yeah ok. You can be such an asshole sometimes John.
“I was just messing around damn chill out.” Well lets go to your place then. This really sucks though because I wanted some damn brownies.”
“John stop complaining. I probably have some food at my house that you can have.”
She lived about two houses down from me so it didn’t take us very long to get to hers.
“Hey let me just get my key out of my backpack and we will get the baby some food.”
“Fuck all that. I was just saying I wanted some damn brownies.”
“Damn. Now something is wrong with my key. I can’t unlock my door from some reason.”
“Hey are you sure that you are putting the key in the right way.
“Yeah I am sure. My parents wouldn’t change the lock without telling me. I don’t know what the hell is going on.
This was pretty weird. Both of us were stuck out of our houses. I asked her if there was any other way to get into her house because I knew that there wasn’t any other way to get into mine. She said that all the windows are locked and the front door is the only way. We then went right across the street to see if her mom’s friend was home. Nothing, nobody.
“Oh I know who would be home right now John.”
“Who?”
“Christina should be there. It wouldn’t take her that long to get home after school.”
“Yeah you are right lets go to her place.”
When we got their the same thing happened. Nobody was home. This was starting to get really weird. Where the hell was everybody? Then it hit me. Something is wrong with our street. There are no cars in anybody‘s driveways, nobody is walking outside, it was the most quiet it has ever been. What the hell is wrong with out neighborhood? Where is everyone? I then pointed out the situation to Jamie.
“ Stop it John. You are really creeping me out. We will just go to the gas station and try to get a hold of our parents.”
We headed to the gas station and came up to the four way stop that was before it. There were no cars, no people, nothing.
“Oh my god! What the hell? Why is your house right over there John? Is that your house?”
“Yeah it is. What the fuck is going on.?”
“I don’t know John but I am really starting to get freaked out now. Lets just turn around.”
We went back to the four way stop and went a different way. The same thing happened. We saw my house again. I picked up a rock from off the ground and threw at my window. It just bounced off like it was made out of plastic.
“Jamie that was just way to crazy. It just bounced off. Where the hell are we? Alright, lets just go back to the school and see if we can use the phone there. I am really confused right now and don’t know what else to do.”
We went back and headed towards our school. Then the four way stop appeared again.
“The same damn stop sign John! What the hell do we do?”
She put her hands around my shoulders and just kept shaking me and saying what do we do what do we do? Shaking me and shaking me. She wouldn’t stop shaking me.
“Seniors.”
What the hell. I hear my assistant principal over the intercom. I thought I was already out of school though.
“Oh shit! Hell yeah”
One of my classmates looked over at me and said, “John where the hell did that come from?
“Ahhh bro don’t worry. I will tell you all about it later. I have to go meet up with Jamie.”
