My Adventure

It was the middle of the long hot summer and I was at summer camp once again. Every year, I attended camp and every year, I can never wait to go to camp to go off and do fun activities with friends and get away from school and parents. But this year is going to be special because the camp is going to do horseback ridding, which sounds like a lot of fun.

Well, time finally came around to the horseback ridding. Once I got ready and on the horse, I eagerly headed off. The trail I am on is dusty, so it is very hard to see anything and plus it is on a very steep mountain. Even though it was dusty the horses fortunately still knew were they were going. It is scary to some people because they are so high up, but not for me because I liked this living on the edge, literally too.

While I am on the trail, I see lots of animals. As I continue the trail I finally see a cool animal which happens to be a big snake on the side of the trail. The snake is very cool looking because it is very big and has cool colors which are black, orange, and red. So of course, with my adventurous attitude, I decide to go off from the trail and take a closer look at the snake. I hop off the horse to take a even closer look because horse keeps moving because it is afraid of the snake. Then, after a minute the horse suddenly gets up on two legs and knocks me over tumbling down the side of the mountain. The horse then bolts off somewhere in the forest.

Next thing I know it, I find myself waking up at the bottom of the mountain discombobulated not knowing what to do now. So I get up and look around to see if I see anybody at all. I then look up and see where I fell off which happened to be about the length of a football field. After a few minutes of recuperating from the fall, I eventually remember what happened. So then I decide to try to yell out to see if anyone can hear him but I get no response. Then I try to climb the cliff I fell off of but I do not make it very far.

Well, this situation seems to be a problem so I realized that I have to find my way back on my own now. I look around for awhile and eventually find the camp lodge a few miles out. The way back looks pretty rough and rugged but it is the only way back and I have to get back to the camp.

So then I set off on my journey to find my way back with only myself and my trusty pocket knife. The journey should not be too hard because it is most downhill and I know the general direction of where I am going, but I might run into something dangerous and plus I have no food.

Well, I walk for about four hours until I then decide I need a break. While I am taking my break I hear rummaging in the bushes so I decide to look and see what it is. I look to see what it is to only find that it is just a little baby bear. But seconds latter, I am startled to find the mother bear returning from the forest coming right toward me. So I do what anybody would do and run away. I run until I cannot anymore and turn around in relief to find the bear not in sight. But then I realize that now I do not even know the direction of where I am supposed to go and I am lost even more than before.

So I then decide to walk in the direction I think is most right and go with it hoping I am going to find my way back. After walking for a while, I think about my previous decision and just before I decide to turn around, I hear water. I then think to myself, “water? maybe I’ll go and check it out.” So I go and check it out to find a dock on a river with a boat at the end. I walk up to the end of the dock and remember that there is a river that goes right by the camp. So decide to get in the boat, cut the rope, and set off in hope for the best.

He stay on the boat for a few hours until hear some voices. I think to myself that I am probably going crazy but then I hear the voices again and decide to go over there and check it out. So I go over to the side of the river and see some people between the trees of the forest. I then quickly get out of the boat and run up the group of people which turns out to be my horseback trial group that I was separated from. I look around and see my horse lonely in the back following the other people on horses. I run up to the horse and jump on the back of my horse and follow everybody back to the camp and enjoy the rest of my time at camp.
