This past weekend I made a trip up to Orlando to visit a close friend of mine. He is involved in the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity there and invited me to attend his Hawaiian semi formal. I decided to go for several reasons. One was I had to get away from the dorm life, another was because hes a close friend, and the third is because I love parties.
All the both of us knew about the formal was that it was a hawaiian theme. We werent told where we would be going except that we needed to be at the UcF fountain at 6 pm sharp and be ready to go on a bus trip.
When me and my friend got to the bus, all I could see was guys and their dates all decked out in hula gear. It was definitely interesting to see some of the outfits people showed up in.
Finally, we were allowed to board the buses and we got situated and waited to see where we would be spending the rest of our night. It was a good hour and a half trip and we arrived at a nice restaraunt on Coco beach.
We got off the cramped bus and made our way through the crowd of people and got the closest seat to the buffet! The dinner selection was definitely on of the best parts of the night. After dinner the dj played some music and we all buggied it down and worked off all the food we ate. It was really beautiful out with stars in the sky and a gentle breeze. Being that we were on a beach, made our theme just right!
At the end of the night we had to load the buses once again, but this time with a bunch of drunk teens. Can you even imagine? It felt like forever before we got home again, but when we did, I passed out from utter exhaustion.
I will never forget the night of dancing under the stars, and I even got a free teeshirt that will always remind me of our Hawaiian night!
