Tallahassee Fair

The Tallahassee Fair is in town at the North Florida Fair Grounds and I would suggest going just for the experience. I have lived in Tallahassee my whole life and not quite been able to figure out where they find these people to run these machines. For those of you that have not been out there yet, get prepared.

This is no Busch Gardens or Disney World, these are machines that look as though the bolts are about to fall out the sides of the machine. The “mechanics” running these steels beauties, don’t appear to have a lot of experience is much of anything either. My friends and I always go just to see the different walks of life that head out to the fair grounds around this time of year.

We play this game, where you walk around the fair and do a “Mullet Count”, the old way to do your hair long in the back short in the front. Last year we got up to 21 mullets in two hours (there is not much to do when you are in high school in Tallahassee). Although it will be an experience for most, I do suggest heading out there at least for a candy apple or something.

The rides are fun and I still ride them, even though they don’t appear so sturdy, so believe me you’ll be fine. I am going tonight come to think of it, I just thought I would give everyone a heads up on the whole Tallahassee Fair.
