To much money

They make millions of dollars a year and yet if they want more money we give it to them. High priced and over paid today’s athletes live a life of luxury, staying in high dollar hotels eating, at the finest restaurants, and sporting the newest styles. Why does society see fit to pay somebody who palls a game these large amounts of money. Do these athletes save lives, do they teach your children what in takes to make it in the real world. They aren’t doctors they aren’t teachers, they are just people who get paid way too much to play a game.
These days society has its priorities in the wrong place they put athletics in front of education. If you where to go to the little league baseballs parks you will find a bunch of fathers who are trying to turn there kid into the next number draft pick who gets that ten million dollar contract, instead of focusing on what is important. Paying athletes these incredible sums of money just sets a bad example for today’s youth. The young people see it as, if I go pro I wont need an education because I will make millions and people will cater to me. This is true isn’t it, aren’t the athletes every little whim not catered to. They are spoiled rotten and can get away with murder. For example lets look at Pro Bowl linebacker Ray Lewis. Ray Lewis was arrested for charges of murder outside of an Atlanta nightclub during the Supper Bowl in 2000. Some how Ray Lewis managed to play ball six months later, and then becoming the supper bowl MVP. If Ray Lewis had not been one of the best linebackers in football do you think he would have gotten out of the charges. Giving athletes special benefits and treating them like are Gods gift to the earth is asinine.
There are a numerous amount of ways that could be thought of to spend millions of dollars on. Walk down your street or through your neighbor hood and look around, are there pot holes in the street are people living under a bridge, are your childes books that he or she brings home in adequate condition for proper learning. The money that is spent on these player could be going be going to better causes.
So professional athletes do put there money and power to good use, Warrick Dunn of the Atlanta Falcons is ones of those players. When Warrick was young his mother was shot and killed while she was on duty. Warrick the oldest of five was forced to provide for his brothers and sisters. Now every Christmas Warrick takes three single mothers and buys them a fully furnished house. This is the kind of stuff that all of these professional athletes need to be doing with there time and money. Athletes are very public figures and weather or not the no it every thing they do is under the lime light and every time one of the dumb ones screw up it puts a label on the players who are trying to make a difference.
In many cases these pro athletes are young thug kids who have no education or morals and yet we put them on a pedestal because they can play ball. Why should someone be paid for their God given natural ability, that’s like saying where going to pay you because you have blue eyes. People would much rather see that money go to some one who has worked hard to do what to accomplish there degree in a certain field. Not saying athletes don’t work, its just that they are building on something they are naturally good at. Take a doctor for example, how many hours of studying, how many days in a lab practicing surgery do they have to go through, and every time a surgeon goes to work someone’s life is at stake. A surgeon’s job is much more valuable than any professional athletes could ever be, but only do the elite surgeons make what professional athletes make. It all boils do to what society sees as its top priorities. The sports industry is huge in the United State and it only going to get bigger. With the growth of the sports industry will be the growth in player’s salaries. Salaries will continue to increase as they importance of a championship increases to each owner. Stienbrinter and the Yankees will always have the highest payroll because he doesn’t care what it cost he wants to win. Till this I have to win its all about the money attitude goes the players will just keep on making there millions of dollar while the rest of use hard working Americans can just sit back a watch.
