Note to self.....

One of my friends had a very traumatic experience tonight and I thought that I would write about it to warn anyone else. She has her grandmother’s handicapped parking pass and she decided that after looking for parking last night she would use it and park really close to our dorm. Not such a good idea. We have 9:30 class in our dorm and she peeked out to look for her car around 10:45 when class got over. It was still there and unharmed.

At 6:00pm tonight she went to get in her car to ride and get some dinner when she noticed that her car had a orange “boot” around the passenger side back tire. If anyone hasn’t seen these things before they are horrible and if you try to move your car while one of them are clamped on your back wheel it will complete tear up the back end of your vehicle.

I was searching desperately for a spot tonight and noticed the yellow warning sign posted to her window and the clamp on her tire. She was in her honors thing that she has on Monday night so I went to her sorority to find out where her class was. After all this I find out and drive over near where her class is because I don’t want her to have to walk and I didn’t know that she had already found out. She was feeling horrible about herself and called the police department to come and pick up their clamp and free her car.

Meanwhile, I came back up to the room and left her to await her destiny. Come to find out she got a court date and at the minimum a $250 ticket. Not only that she had to tell her parents and all else so it was a complete disaster. Moral to this story is, for anyone out there with a handicap tag that doesn’t belong to them, NOTE TO SELF… don’t use it, its not worth it.

Parking Here Sucks!

Ouch that sucks, but could you blame her? Parking on campus at FSU is horrible. My roommate and I have to leave our house two-hours early just to get a parking spot. Our class doesn’t start until 11:35 am, yet we end up leaving the house at 9:30 am. Some mornings there isn’t even parking when we get there so we have to wait around until someone leaves.
