Darkness

Have you ever been left home alone by yourself with no one around? Sitting in the darkness wishing there was someone there with you because you can bet your life that there is someone outside of your room? If you have, you would totally understand where I am coming from. This is what happened this weekend.

The Holidays!

I dont know how other people feel about the holidays, but as for myself, I love it! Theres just something special about the holiday season. People seem to be happier and livelier than ever. The malls are decorated, the streets are lit up with lights, and the streets are made up with santas and reindeers.

A baby’s birthday doesn’t begin until it is born......

On January 22, 1973, an unmarried woman by the name of Jane Roe filed a case to the Supreme Court asking to safely and legally terminate her pregnancy. From there the Court legalized abortions stating that a woman’s right to decide whether to become a parent or not deserves Constitutional protection. It is said that because of this woman, abortion is now legalized in most states.

Thanksgiving Nightmare!!!!!

I had the best of intentions of making it home on time for the Thanksgiving hoilday. After all, I have a lot to be thankful for. Never did I think for one second that I wouldnt be making it home for the Turkey.

The portfolio draft that I decided to expand on was draft D. At first, I wrote and felt extremely strong about draft C. It was a paper on a polarized position that I held pertaining to a topic of my choice. I choose to write about abortions.

The Long Ride Home

Here's the situation.....

I made arrangements to go home with a few friends several weeks ago for Thanksgiving. Everything was fine with that until I got into a nasty arguement with the driver. Unfortunately, because Thanksgiving is in little less than a week, I was unable to find another ride home and a flight would cost me around 700 bucks. No thanks!

The Big Bet

Everyone that knows the big Florida State/ University of Florida football game is just around the corner, and wouldn’t it be nice for this Thanksgiving holiday to be a winning one?

I know what im going to be doing Saturday afternoon when my school’s team with be showing it up in Gainesville. Now it’s only fair to say that both of these teams are ranked extremely high and are both highly respectable teams. Teams that know what determination is and know how to play with heart.

This revision assignment I believe was a pretty simple one. My first step to revising my first draft was to turn “him” into “I”. That way my draft was now in first person. I added more dialogue between the two main characters because it added more action into my draft. Now that my draft was in first person I could feel free to have my character talk as much as I wanted.

The sun was hot, and there was a gentle cool breeze that filtered through the air. I rolled down the windows to let the beauty of the land gaze in and radiate through my hair. I had no destination, just the urge to leave my small town and explore the outside world. A world that meant bigger dimensions for me, and most importantly....freedom!

36 hours of Boggie!!!

In a few weeks from now, there is something called the Dance Marathon that is coming up. Dance Marathon is something that the Greek community puts together to raise money for the childrens miracle network. Its 36 hours of straight dancing and participants from every sorority and fraternity take part in it.

I felt that this particular draft was easy, because we werent assigned to write about a certain topic. We were allowed to write about anything that we wanted, as long as it was in third person. Although I felt that my story was interesting, I do have some concerns.

Semi Formal

This past weekend I made a trip up to Orlando to visit a close friend of mine. He is involved in the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity there and invited me to attend his Hawaiian semi formal. I decided to go for several reasons. One was I had to get away from the dorm life, another was because hes a close friend, and the third is because I love parties.

Moving on Up

The past century’s concept of “literacy” believed in textbooks and typewriters. They didn’t depend on computers and the Internet for everyday uses. Now, because of the great advances in technology, our generation is learning differently and by different means than ever before.
