Even though society's view on abortion is split between the two famous "Pro-Choice" and "Pro-Life", liberals and conservatives respectively, it seems that acceptance to this alternative to unwanted pregnancy is gradually increasing.

A study aid as well as a powerful drug

I am sure that all of you have heard of Aderol. It is a powerful drug prescribed to those suffering of Attention Deficit Disorders. I first heard of it from a friend who attends the University of Central Florida. He told me that his friend has ADD and he gets it for free whenever he needs to study. I questioned him and said that if he needed a drug to help him study then he needs to try harder in class or he needs to go to a doctor and get Aderol prescribed to him because he must have some sort of Attention Deficit Disorder. In a previous blog I stated my theory: “you attend class, you pay attention in class, you do your assignments, you pass your final.” If he needs Aderol to get through this then he must be suffering from an ADD.

Journal 13 - Finals Week

My first semester at Florida State University has finally come to an end!

At times it was easier than I thought, other times it was extremely difficult. All-nighters, coffee, study sessions, group project... You name it and I did it this semester. Even though all of this happened It still feels like the beginning of the year. Everything is so new and unpredictable that it makes my life here at Florida State just like a box of chocolate, full of surprises! Good surprises.

Journal 12 - One away from 20

This past Wednesday I turned 19 years old. Being 19 doesn’t feel any different than being 18. I woke up, went to class, packed, and boarded a plane in order to come home.

Once I got home I was showered with gifts from my parents, family, and friends –much like in previous years. I rested for a few hours then went out to dinner with my family –like we have been doing ever since I became too old for “cake with friends” at home. Then I was pretty tired from the whole day so I went to bed. Like I said, nothing different.

Thanksgiving break serves as the beginning of the official countdowns towards Winter break. Students across the nation head back to their hometowns to celebrate Turkey Day with their loved ones. The end of this holiday means that upon their return to school there are only a couple more weeks of school until the end of the semester.

When I first heard this quote I was only a junior in high school. I remember well sitting on the front row of my Advanced Placement United States History class while Mrs. Hitchcock prepared us for our exam. However I cannot tell you who said it. It’s sad, I know. I even looked it up online but the pages brought up on yahoo.com and google.com do not mention the author of the quote. I am sorry for not being able to provide the author of a quote that has caused great impact in my life.

If you are from South Florida like I, you know what I am talking about! How cold have you been in this past week?

Unlike most students my day starts at around 7 am when I wake up in order to make to my 8 am class on time. Most of the time I go online and check the weather, on Monday it read: 41 degrees. I could not believe that I was up that early and about to head out for class when it was that cold.

I picked this draft because I gave up on my second one. I attempted unsuccessfully to make Cara's drive home interesting, but even I didn't want to read the narrative.

I think I am not cut out to write about fiction. I think I write when I have something to say, and I definitely had something to say about abortion. Don't you think? I know that in my first draft I confused a few people in light of where I stood.

I will not hide, I am a massive Britney Spears fan. From "...Baby One More Time" through "Ooops!... I did it again" to "Britney" I have been buying merchandize, voting for her videos and requesting her songs on the radio. I have loved every single one of the afore mentioned releases.

This draft was not as bad as the first part. All I had to do was put it in the first person. In a way this makes it easier because I was able to give the character more of my own characteristics whereas in the first draft I tried to think as someone completely different.

For my seven hour trip home I decided to wear my most comfortable jeans, a white thank top, a white button down shirt -with the top down it gets a little chilly- a Florida State baseball hat, a pair of Channel shades, and obviously my favorite pair of Rainbows flip flops.

Honestly, this narrative was the hardest thing I ever had to write for this class. I thought that writing about Draft C from the opposite point of view was hard, but I was wrong.

I don’t think I was creative at all. Cara? That’s like 2 letters away from my own name! She goes to school here? What’s wrong with me? I’m sorry group member, and those who end up reading my short story, I just didn’t know what to write. I stared at the computer screen for thirty minutes trying to pick a topic from that exercise we did in class. I looked at pictures, magazines, I visited friends… I am so sorry. I hope that by next class I will be able to improve on the narrative.
