Innocent Battle Fields

It was the June of 1942 when Sir Maxwell stopped and recollected the events of the last two years. The German carpet bombings had gone on for long enough, leaving all inhabitants of Ely to pick up their demolished lives and continue to live. He remembered the horrific faces that every one had as they emerged from their bomb shelters or basements every time the Germans came to visit.

I am about to finish the final draft of my paper and I am very proud of it. I have enjoyed this course very much. I think for me it really helped get away from the high school writing format of five paragraph form.

I think that I was really able to get a lot done this time. I made the way I said things more direct when needed and I changed a lot of the language to make the story a little more graphic than before. Other than that I know that I really need to work on grammar and also some of the organization that I used with this certain story. I know that there can probably be added dialog between him and the neighbors, which I am thinking about adding a paragraph where he speaks with them.

I think that the writing aspect of this class is really second right now. I think that being able to grasp what to write about and where to get the ideas from comes first. I just turned in my Portfolio Draft 1 and I am very happy with the story that I made up.

I actually just continually wrote my Exploratory C to what I turned in. I am very happy with the content I just know that I need to organize it a little better. The flashbacks should be a little more noticable so the reader isn't lost.

The afternoon was clam, for Britain at least because lately it has only seen and heard talks about the wars that are getting oh to close to home. The bombings have continued for some time now and all inhabitants are in a state of disillusion. Will the bombing ever stop and will the country overcome the evil power that continues to get closer?

I think that my writing is getting bitter with everything new we write. I also belive that this second half I have done a lot better than that of the fist. I have gotten a job and am also attending class.

I really didn't like his one as much as I did the vision of my second. I enjoyed so much more telling the story in thrid person rather than first person. I wasn't able to capture the flashbacks when writing in present tense which i think takes away from my story.

Getting home from work was always my favorite part of the day. I could come home, relax, read the newspaper, and see my lovely wife Abigail and son Charles. We live in a small town on the west coast of Great Britain called Ely. Lately the town has been filled with rumors about the Nazis planning to bomb different cities in Great Britain, but I doubt that the Royal Air Force will allow that to happen.

I think that I was able to capture what I wanted the story to do very well. Honestly though, the story itself is very long, almost 1800 words. I tried to keep it from being so long but it seemed like I couldn't or I would lose to much. I really enjoyed writing this story and I think that I will enjoy doing this one over the Exploratory C. I wanted to tell a story that could have happened and not totally "out there" fiction. All of the dates and even the weather are true in the story. I was able to do some research about the Battle of Britain in which the story is based. All of the facts about the time it started and the dates it lasted too are all real facts.

Everyone knows that our generation has grown up with the convenience of things that our great grandparents could never even fathom. Furthermore, you have to look at the fact that the internet only came out about 15 years ago and has already revolutionized everything. There is nothing you can't find on the internet. Every store, every group, and everyone potentially has a website.

I think that writing the Exploratory C really broadened my horizons. I was able to take a view point that I feel very strongly about and write it, then counter it with that of the view point on the opposite side of the argument.
