ENC 1101-B3 & B4: Writing for Discovery

“Frank, breakfast is on the table. You’re going to be late for work!” I, a middle class family man with a job in management with the local grocery store chain, scurry downstairs to eat with my family. As I give my two daughters a kiss on the cheek, I reach for the daily newspaper at the table. My wife, Debbie, fills me in on what her plans are for her day.

The dawning of the semester and the beginning of a new one is upon me. These four months of school have flown by me faster than any other time period in my life. If you think your senior year of high school was fast, go to college for a few weeks.

This class had definitely been a change of different writing for me. I am used to writing a ton of work with paper and pencil and turning it in to the teacher. In this class, I post ALL of my writings online so everyone in class, and anyone else, can view my writings.

Saturday afternoon, the most anticipated game of the year. Definitely the best part of my Thanksgiving break. The best game I have seen in a long time, and absolutely the best college game between the two Florida rivalries.

Thanksgiving break was much needed in my situation. I had just been through hell week through Sunday, and go to leave here to head home to Tampa on Tuesday. I got there to relax with family and see old friends I haven't seen in a while.

I choose to go with the fiction story. I like the present tense better, but it's not as easier to write a story in. It reads better on paper and sounds better in my head to me.

I mainly focused on the structure and content of the paper. I didn't add in any huge events, but mainly revised little things that go on throughout the day.

This was supposed to go up last week, but i didn't notice till now that I hadnt posted it. I posted my memo, but forgot to post the 2nd draft with changes.

Explatory C and Explatory D are two very different topics on paper. One is about pro or against for the Bright Futures scholarship. Explatory D is a story about me gambling in the stock market over a period of one day.

Waking up extemely early, about 5 or 6 a.m, sucks! For a cetain thing, I had to wake up that early and take a light run for about one and a half miles, which isn't that bad. Butttttt, doing it that early in the morning kills me.

Changing from past to present wasn’t that difficult. I also changed all of the names of the main characters and pronouns such as his and he all to me and my. I didn’t change my story around that much, just adding some information about myself and the stock broker, Herb.

It was hard for me to think of a short story topic even though I had tons of time to write it. I finally decided on an issue about the stock market, which I am thoroughly interested by. I hope to expand on this paper a decent amount and probably make it into a bigger story with much more details.

Matrix Revolution: Best one in my opinion. I wasn't one of those guys out there who lives on the Matrix movies and was first in line when tickets went on sale. The first one was alright to me and the second one was a little better and more easier to understand. However, the last one was awesome!
